A series of Information about the New Signing of Inter Milan, Robin Gosens

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Inter Milan was originally still going strong this season despite being left behind by Antonio Conte, Romelu Lukaku, and Achraf Hakimi. Simone Inzaghi’s Il Nerazzurri are still in a strong position to defend the Serie A title and fight in the Coppa Italia and Champions League.

In fact, Inter have won the Italian Super Cup title which is Inzaghi’s first trophy for the club. Nevertheless Inter still strengthen the squad by adding depth in several positions.

Along with the arrival of Felipe Caicedo, the striker who will replace the injured Joaquin Correa, Inter have also successfully secured the services of 27-year-old left-back Robin Gosens.

Inter borrowed him from Atalanta with a mandatory purchase option which reportedly reached 25 million euros. Gosens will receive 2.5 million euros per season as well as bonuses for the next four and a half years. Atalanta made a fortune after signing him for 1.17 million euros from Heracles Almelo.

Reporting from the official Inter Milan website, here are all the interesting things you need to know about Robin Gosens.

Career Journey

Full name Robin Everardus Gosens, as a child he already had a life motto that he held tightly “Always give more than what others give; that’s the only way to grow.”

Armed with this motto, little Gosens, once upon a time in the past, put on a great performance playing football when he was hanging out with friends at night. Despite this, Gosens still looked good providing assists, scoring goals and running a lot until scout Vitesse Arnhem asked him to do a trial.

That’s how Gosens’ football path began in 2012 at the age of 18. From Emmerich am Rhein in Germany, a city on the Rhine four kilometers from the Dutch border, to Arnhem which is 30 minutes by car or by train.

Gosens made a career without neglecting his schooling. Even if he failed at football, Gosens thought about taking police courses, but that didn’t happen because of his hard work.

“I want to be a police officer; I’m pretty sure of that. When my grandfather first put me in a police car when I was seven years old, I thought I would follow in his footsteps,” Gosens said.

“If it didn’t work out in football I might have gone that route first. Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t have to because I don’t think I’ll be happy in the long term.”

Discipline, hard work, dedication and a strong mentality take Gosens beyond limits. At the age of 19, Gosens stepped from Vitesse, Dordrecht, Heracles Almelo, until the call from Atalanta came.

Playing in one of the best European leagues, adapting to the culture and language is not easy, but Gian Piero Gasperini has successfully developed his career to the name he is today.

The Precious Year 2020-2021

According to data from Opta, Gosens along with Achraf Hakimi (now at PSG) and Theo Hernandez, are prolific full-backs who have contributed to at least nine goals from 21 Serie A openers in the last 15 years.

Gosens has been at Atalanta since 2017 and led the club to play in the Champions League for the first time. The peak occurred in 2020 and 2021. In 2020 Gosen was selected as Team of the Year and was called up to the German national team.

Gosens was even brought by Joachim Low to Euro 2020 and will be remembered for his fine form in Germany’s 4-2 win over Portugal. He scored goals and provided assists to become Man of the Match.

Play Style

A dynamic full-back, strong defensively, and diligent in assisting attacks, especially when he is a left wing-back. According to Whoscored, Gosens’ strengths are in aerial duels, key passes, passing the ball, finishing, defensive contributions and blocking the ball.

With weak points on discipline and concentration. Gosens will adapt again at an Inter who don’t play a lot of short balls, but playing in a star-studded squad will not make it difficult for him to adapt.
