A Touching Story from the 2018 World Cup Volunteer

DBasia.news – Able to attend the World Cup is the dream of every football lovers. Moreover getting the chance to involve in this every-four-year event. Just like what Vladimir Juan Marco did, the Colombian man who became the volunteer for this World Cup.

Vladimir left for Russia after chosen as the foreign volunteer in the 2018 World Cup. But, his contribution left special meaning for him. Vladimir left to fulfill the dream of his father, who really loves Russia.

“My father loved Russia so much that he named me Vladimir and my brother Andrei,” said Vladimir reported by TASS.

“He very much wanted to visit your country and now I have made his dream come true,” he added.

It’s not the first time for Vladimir to become the World Cup volunteer. Four years ago, he also worked as a volunteer in the 2014 Brasil World Cup.

“I am working in the Volgograd Arena’s mixed zone. It is an area where players may be interviewed by reporters. We are closely cooperating with FIFA staff,” said Vladimir explaining his job.

It’s reasonable for Vladimir to get the job.

“I think I have been put to this task because I am an experienced volunteer fluent in three languages – Spanish, Portuguese and English,” he explained.

Besides, Vladimir also used most of his time in Russia to learn all about Russia, including the language.
