DBasia.news – AC Milan reportedly wants to insert an affordable purchase option clause for Junior Firpo’s transfer from Barcelona to the mercato this summer.
The Rossoneri are known to be trying to strengthen their choice of players in their defense by recruiting two full-backs, one each for the right and left sides. Firpo is said to be the Serie A giants’ main target for the left-back position and negotiations are currently underway with the Blaugrana.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are in negotiations on the basic loan formula and purchase options. It seems that there has been an agreement regarding the transaction considering that they are currently discussing the nominal purchase clause.
Milan doesn’t want to invest a significant amount in the 24 year old defender, especially they currently have Theo Hernandez as a starter and it doesn’t make sense for them to purchase an expensive player just to be a backup. Therefore, management wants the purchase clause to be at 15 million euros or 240 billion rupiah.
It remains to be known if Barcelona will ask for more, but what is clear is that this is the maximum amount the Rossoneri are willing to pay to bring Firpo to the San Siro.
In the next few days, there should be more detailed information regarding the course of negotiations between the two clubs and it is hoped that there will be a common ground to reach an agreement.
