DBasia.news – AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli assessed that player rotation was not a factor in his team losing 3-0 against Lille on matchday 3 in Group H of the 2020-2021 Europa League, at the San Siro Stadium, Friday (6/11). Pioli considered, Milan’s final settlement was weak.

AC Milan’s unbeaten run finally came to a halt after 24 matches. Against Lille, the Rossoneri lost 3-0. Yusuf Yazici’s hat trick is the cause.

After the match, Pioli considered the player rotation he did not cause Milan to lose. According to the coach, Milan made a lot of open space.

“We evaluate positives and negatives. For the first time, in a long time, we have more negatives than positives. We are not ourselves because Lille are the team that will take advantage of that mistake,” Pioli said as reported by Football Italia.

“I think this is the best starting XI for this situation. It was balanced and competitive. Apart from the penalty, I felt we did really well in the first half. However, our movement and finishing in the final third was not as usual.”

“Obviously, as time went on we conceded two goals in a row with opponents who took advantage of the open space. We were punished constantly,” he added.

“I thought the score was a bit late. However, we know the team will be balanced and ready for the next game.”

With these results, Milan slipped to second place in the standings. Il Diavolo Rosso collected six points from three matches.
