ACL injury, Leicester City Defender James Justin’s Season Ends

DBasia.news – Leicester City defender James Justin must see his season come to an end, with an ACL injury forcing the 22-year-old to a long absence and undergoing surgery.

Justin has been consistent for the Foxes of late, with a regular role as full-back under Brendan Rodgers.

Justin appeared 31 times in various competitions this season. With three goals and one assist, the defender allowed Leicester to keep nine clean sheets.

Thanks to his contribution, Leicester are now ranked third in the Premier League standings.

However, the England U-21 national team player suffered an injury in the FA Cup fifth round match against Brighton and he was forced to end the 2020/21 season early.

“It’s sad for JJ, the scans didn’t show very good results,” Rodgers told reporters ahead of the meeting against Liverpool at King Power Stadium, Saturday (13/2).

“This is a big blow for us. It looks like he has done with his ACL, which is a blow to us.”

“He’s incredible. Whatever position he’s played, he’s at least 8/10.”

“We hope he is well. He is in London with our doctors and trying to get all the skills for the next step. I know this kid, he is mentally tough, so he will be back.”

“We’ve done with Ricky [Pereira] and come back fitter and stronger. That will be a source of inspiration for him.”

“He is likely to undergo surgery soon and we will fight for him for the rest of the season.”

In the FA Cup quarter-finals, Leicester City will face Manchester United and they will face Slavia Prague in the last 32 of the Europa League.
