DBasia.news – Adrien Rabiot’s failure to join Manchester United did not make him regret it. In fact, he is grateful for being able to become Massimiliano Allegri’s mainstay at Juventus.
Rabiot did emerge as a target for Manchester United last summer. He was considered the right replacement option after the protracted transfer negotiations for Frenkie de Jong.
Manchester United’s decision to target Rabiot was questioned. That’s because the player did not stand out at Juventus.
Juventus had no objection in releasing Rabiot. This transfer actually helped the Bianconeri to bring in Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
In the end, Manchester United failed to sign Rabiot. The high demand for salaries from the player is believed to have made the Red Devils withdraw.
Manchester United then managed to sign the more promising Casemiro. Rabiot had to face his fate.
But a few months later, Rabiot’s fortunes changed completely. He has now become one of the key players in the Juventus midfield.
This made Rabiot grateful. He thought maybe his fate would be different if he moved to Manchester United.
“There was contact from a Premier League club but in the end it was lucky I stayed. Maybe this is the best decision even though the Premier League is still the most popular league,” Rabiot told La Gazzetta dello Sports.
Rabiot has featured prominently in the moment of Juventus’ revival in Serie A. He was able to score three goals and two assists in the last six matches which were wiped out with victory.
This positive trend has made Rabiot praise Allegri. The coach is considered successful in maximizing his potential and that of other Juventus players.
“This season with Allegri allowed me to grow a lot. This year, for example, I learned many of the videos shown by one of his assistants, Paolo Bianco. It’s a job that also helps me in the national team.”
“Allegri is patient with young players who persist in training even when they make mistakes. You can see the results, everything has improved in the last few months.”
