After a long wait, Jack Wilshere is finally back

DBasia.news – Jack Wilshere’s waiting period to return to competition is finally over. The former Arsenal star has officially signed a contract with the Danish League’s highest caste club, Aarhus GF.

Wilshere has been unemployed since last summer after parting ways with Bournemouth. Since then he has failed to find a new club despite having trained with Como and Arsenal.

Wilshere last played an official match in May last year in the Championship play-off semifinals. That means he hasn’t played in about nine months.

According to the Daily Mail report, Wilshere was contracted by Aarhus until the end of the season with the option of an extension. The player who is now 30 years old receives a wage of £5 thousand per week.

“I am at a point in my career where I have to start again after a difficult period. I am very grateful for the opportunity that the AGF has offered me,” Wilshere told Aarhus’ official website.

“I will do everything I can to help the team move forward. I am really looking forward to contributing to the team.”

Wilshere has the honor to use the number 10 jersey. This is a testament to the full confidence that Aarhus has given.

“He (Wilshere) is in good physical condition, but of course he doesn’t have match fitness. It may come, and we are looking forward to seeing it in the white jersey,” said Aarhus director of football Stig Inge Bjornebye.

Aarhus are currently seventh in the Danish Super league. However, David Nielsen’s team still has a great chance to advance to the play-offs and fight for the championship trophy.
