Ajax is interested in borrowing Dean Henderson from Manchester United

DBasia.news – Eredivisie giants, Ajax Amsterdam are reportedly trying to borrow Dean Henderson from Manchester United in January. Reportedly, it was Edwin van der Sar who invited the goalkeeper to have a career in the Netherlands.

Onana has played at Ajax since 2016 and the product of the La Masia academy has won two Eredivisie titles. The challenge of playing in Europe’s top league with a big club could convince Onana to leave.

No doubt Ajax are looking for a new goalkeeper. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Ajax’s target is Manchester United’s English goalkeeper, Dean Henderson. Reportedly the conversation continued between Ajax and Man United.

The two clubs has a good relationship after the transfer of Donny van de Beek in 2020, especially Ajax Director, Edwin van der Sar is a former goalkeeper and Red Devils legend. Henderson’s transfer could happen.

Of course, Man United did not release him permanently but as a loan player in January 2022. Henderson (24 years old) was called up again by United after two seasons ago he appeared impressively on loan at Sheffield United.

Last season Henderson still played a lot under the direction of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but this season the situation has turned completely both when Solskjaer was coached until now with Ralf Rangnick.

Having had problems with positive cases of the corona virus, Henderson was also injured so that it interfered with his preparations this season. Moreover, De Gea has found his best performance again and is challenging to shift to the position of United’s main goalkeeper.

Ajax tried to use it to try to borrow him in January. Anything can still happen, including the possibility of Henderson sticking around to try to impress Rangnick.

Ajax needed a new goalkeeper as Onana still had contract problems and had served a match ban for using doping. Onana’s coating, Maarten Stekelenburg is also injured and Erik ten Hag is relying on 38-year-old goalkeeper, Remko Pasveer who has played 16 times out of 17 games.
