DBasia.news – Arsenal’s performance, especially in defense, against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, was considered by Alan Shearer as an amateur team and worse than last season.
Despite bringing in two defenders this summer, with David Luiz from Chelsea who started as a starter against Tottenham, Unai Emery’s back line continued to be unstable after conceding 51 goals last season.
Shearer stated that Arsenal’s defense had worsened this season and that it would be a big problem for the club.
“Arsenal’s way of defense was ridiculous in the first half, looked more like an amateur league,” Shearer said.
“From beginning to end, it’s a shame because it’s very easy for Tottenham to score two goals in the first half.”
“If anything, Arsenal are now worse than last season. Kieran Tierney has yet to appear but evidence now shows they have not developed at all in how to defend.”
