Alberto Gilardino Advise Patrick Cutrone

DBasia.news –  The 36-year-old former AC Milan striker, Alberto Gilardino, advised the Rossoneri young striker, Patrick Cutrone. Gilardino advised Cutrone to leave because he rarely played there.

Last season, in Cutrone’s second full season to strengthen Milan from the academy, Cutrone only scored three goals in Serie A – seven fewer goals than he scored in the 2017-18 season, despite only appearing six times.

Cutrone’s playing became smaller when Milan brought Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa in January 2019. Cutrone only started 12 times in Milan in the Serie A last season and Piatek was more favored to be the spearhead on the front lines.

That situation gave rise to interest from other European clubs. Reportedly, Cutrone was wanted by LaLiga and Bundesliga clubs. The 21-year-old striker is priced at 25 million euros and his speculation is growing after a good performance with the Italy Under-21 national team at the Under-21 European Cup.

For all these considerations, Gilardino, the former Milan bomber in mid-2005-2008, advised Cutrone to move from Milan and join a club that promised a regular playing position.

“Yes (Cutrone is good at leaving Milan) because he will have more chance to play more regularly,” Gilardino told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“His future might be outside Milan and there he might be allowed to be a very important player,” he continued.

Furthermore, Gilardino, who has scored 36 goals in 94 matches with Milan, noticed how the rapid development of Cutrone could play in many positions. Given this, plus the price and relatively young age, it is natural that many clubs are attracted to Cutrone.

“Last season he has developed and can do everything. (He can) play wide, behind the main attacker, or as a central striker. He is young and already has expensive prices, but I will recruit him,” concluded Gilardino.
