DBasia.news – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been absent for quite some time due to injuries, however that does not cover up Liverpool’s possibilities on putting him in the team for the fall Champions League.
According to UEFA regulations, team participants in the top 16 Champions League is allowed to include 30 names into their squad with a detail of team A and B. The player list for team A will consist of 25 primary names that are required by the UEFA to be included throughout the fall phase.
AS for team B will consist of substitute players. In the team, a club is allowed to enclose young players without certain restrictions, with the requirement of being born in the 1997 upwards. Liverpool is using that opportunity to insert the academy alumni yougsters.
George Johnston, Nathaniel Phillips, Rafael Camacho, Rhian Brewster, are several names Jurgen Klopp brought to the squad. Besides them, there is also Oxlade Chamberlain.
The 25-year old has once again trained with Liverpool players after recovering from a bad knee injury he suffered last season, since the Champions League semi-final against AS Roma.
Klopp has predicted that the former Arsenal player will be able to return this February or early next month.
“There’s no pressure for him (Oxlade-Chamberlain), but most likely he will start training on February, maybe last February, March,” explains Klopp recently.
Two main team players still injured and recovering are Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Both still in team B. Klopp still waits on their condition before really putting them in Team A’s list.
In the top 16 Champions League, Liverpool will face Bayern Munchen, one of the champion favourite. The first leg took place Wednesday (20/2) at Anfiel 03.00 AM WIB, then second leg at Bayern’s quarters March 14 2019, 03.00 AM WIB
