Alexander-Arnold: Clean Sheets are more Important than Making Assists

DBasia.news –  Liverpool wing-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, feels that his team’s clean sheets are more important than him contributing assists on the field.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, is an important pillar of the Reds. Although positioned as right-back, he has the ability to send an accurate cross. He also often provides satisfactory service to Liverpool’s attack line.

Last season, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hard work produced a slick record. The 22-year-old player managed to break the record of assists in a season for the defender category. He scored 12 assists in one season.

At present, Trent Alexander-Arnold has also packed 12 assists. With 11 matches left, he has a great chance to break his record last season.

Even so, the record was not so important for Alexander-Arnold. He felt that his team not conceding in a match was far more important than him donating assists.

“Defense is the key to success. That is the foundation for any outcome. You get clean sheets and you won’t lose. That’s our mentality, “Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports.

“If we build a foundation with defensive work and not conceding, then we have attackers and midfielders and even ourselves to go forward and create goals. There are times when we don’t score a lot, but we still win games because of a clean sheet, “Alexander-Arnold added.
