Alisson Becker Becomes the Reason Simon Mignolet Leaves from Liverpool

DBasia.news –   Simon Mignolet finally revealed the reason for leaving Liverpool. Since the arrival of Alisson Becker, Mignolet chose to return to his home country as he felt he could never return to being a mainstay of Liverpool.

The goalkeeper spent six years of his career with the English Premier League club, but his chances were limited in his final season after Alisson came in from AS Roma in the summer of 2018.

Mignolet only made two appearances in all competitions for his final season at Anfield, and then left for Club Brugge in the transfer market.

“If I had the chance to fight for a place, I might have survived,” Mignolet told Het Belang van Limburg.

“But if I was in the goal when Alisson was injured, I could have knocked ten shots out of the box.

“But Alisson will definitely claim his place again, and if he scores an own goal, he will still be there (starting XI). What does that mean for me? “

This season, Mignolet himself has now played 20 times for Club Brugge, with his team topping the Belgian Pro League. They are five points ahead of closest competitor, Gent.
