Allegri Explains Juventus’ Key of Winning Inter

Allegri

DBasia.news – Juventus won the Derby d’Italia against Inter Milan at Allianz Stadium. The only goal from Mario Mandzukic makes Massimiliano Allegri squad reserve the unbeaten record this season.

However, Allegri admits the victory was hard to achieve. He emphasized Luciano Spalletti squad played better in the first half but the change in the second half revived Juventus.

“Inter caused us problems in the first half, opening up with Joao Mario and Gagliardini, so we struggled to close them down,” Allegri explained.

Considering the pressure from Inter, Allegri took a decisive change. Especially, related to Joao Cancelo and Mario Mandzukic who collaborated to make the only goal at 66′.

“We’re working on Cancelo’s defensive approach and it must be recognized he has improved a great deal. Matteo Politano was putting pressure on, so I switched the full-backs to make the most of our characteristics and cover where needed, pushing on the other,” he explained.

“In the second half, we did a bit better because Mandzukic moved on the left. Dybala played well, we run a lot and we didn’t concede many goal chances,” Allegri continued.

Besides the tactic change, Allegri also asked the squad to be more effective in the game and use the chance. He thinks that’s how they create the only goal from Mandzukic’s heading after receiving the cross passing from Cancelo, bringing Juventus winning the Derby d’Italia.
