Andre Gomes Feeling While Playing for Barcelona

DBasia.news – Playing with FC Barcelona doesn’t necessarily ensure the happiness for the players within the squad. Andre Gomes was one of them.

Signed from Valencia in 2016 worth 40 million euro, Barca won the hunting against Real Madrid. Moreover, Gomes was the Euro 2016 winner with Portugal national team at that time.

But, Gomes’ fact is apparently more difficult than a bitter coffee. The player who was born in Grijo, July 30th, 1993, seldom plays and spends more time in Barcelona bench under Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde era.

Gomes once uttered the frustration of that condition. Now, Gomes is on-loan to Everton and enjoying his career revival. However, he won’t forget the bad memory in Barcelona.

“My time at Barcelona was difficult for me because I did not feel happy. I had some good moments but during the difficult ones I suffered for my father and my mother,” Gomes said cited by Sport-English.

“For me, it was very difficult to meet the expectations not only of the fans but also my own. I couldn’t see my parents suffer, it was difficult but now I am enjoying football again.”

” I can’t say that I am playing my best football as I don’t want to put pressure or limits on myself. I only want to improve physically and do my best. Now I feel more like a man, mature and experienced. I am happy to be in the Premier League and England,” Gomes described.

Gomes is on-loan until the end of the season with a 2,25 million euro. Everton have the chance to sign him permanently.
