DBasia.news – Liverpool left-back, Andrew Robertson also commented on the transfer polemic for Barcelona captain Lionel Messi. Robertson expressed his hope that Messi could stay at the Camp Nou.

Previously, Messi had reportedly wanted to leave Barcelona and join the Premiere League club, Manchester City.

“I hope he stays at Barca. If he is not the best, he must be one of the best in football. So, if he goes to your closest rival, then that is not a good sign,” said Robertson as quoted by Sportsmole, Friday (4/9 ).

Robertson understands that Messi’s presence can increase the quality of Manchester City. City are Liverpool’s rivals in the Premiere League. But what he said above, is only based on his personal ego.

He has no authority to restrict movement in the market. Robertson even saw doubts among Barca officials in the mission to defend Messi. If La Pulga finally heads to England, like it or not, he will have to face it on the field.

The former Hull City player played against Messi in the semifinals of the Champions League 2018-2019 season. According to Robertson it was the hardest match he has ever played. He really focused on guarding the movement of the winner of the six Ballon d’Or trophies.

“He is able to appear from anywhere. Fantastic. As I said maybe he’s the best, hopefully he will remain in Spain,” he concluded.

La Pulga’s father, Jorge Messi had just met with the President of Barcelona, Josep Mario Bartomeu. Discussions between the two have not resulted in the best solution for all parties.
