DBasia.news – The Brentford Vs Manchester United match was marked by the attitude of Cristiano Ronaldo, who looked disappointed when he was pulled out by Ralf Rangnick. In the midst of the Ronaldo-Rangnick drama, Anthony Elanga stole the show with his slick performance.
Elanga was again featured as a starter when Manchester United beat Brentford with a score of 3-1 at the Community Stadium, Thursday (20/1) early morning WIB. This is the second time in a row the 19-year-old has appeared since the first minute.
Elanga answered that belief with the maximum. He became the breaker of the dead and scored his first goal in the Premier League 2021-2022.
The Swedish passport player even appeared in full in this match. Even though Cristiano Ronaldo was pulled out in the 71st minute.
This is proof that Elanga has become one of the important players in Rangnick’s team. This was recognized directly by the German tactician.
“I have to say from day one into the first training session, he’s been stealing the show. I’ve heard his name before (being interim manager) and when I was in the hotel room I watched videos of him on YouTube,” Rangnick told the BBC.
“I thought this lad was very good. He was outstanding in the second half, worked a lot to get the ball and score goals.”
Elanga has made his debut in the first team since last season. He even contributed one goal in the last match of the 2020-2021 Premier League.
Last summer, Manchester United had planned to loan Elanga to another club. This decision can not be separated from the many attackers who fill the main squad.
Elanga has attracted the interest of a number of other European clubs. But Rangnick ensured not to loan him out in the transfer market this winter.
“I told him he was not going out on loan and would stay here. He has improved in training,” he added.
Elanga himself welcomed the goal against Brentford happily. This moment added to his confidence to perform better in the next matches.
“When I got the first touch I knew the goalkeeper was a little closer, so I headed it. I want to keep working hard and get more goals,” said Elanga.
“I really appreciate the boss. You can see the intensity we give in training and if you work hard in training you get the results you deserve.”
