DBasia.news – Currently, Real Madrid are in a rush to get the new coach to replace Julen Lopetegui who just got sacked. Santiago Solari is handling Real Madrid as the interim coach.
Recently, Antonio Conte is mentioned as the target for Madrid. However, Real Madrid President, Ramon Calderon, assumes Antonio Conte isn’t the right person.
Calderon said the Italian coach has a similar strategy with Madrid former coach, Jose Mourinho.
Calderon gave the example Madrid declined under Mourinho with defending strategy.
“He’s asked for three years and to come in with five people and have hands free for signings and transfers. But that’s something the president (Florentino Perez) isn’t willing to accept,” Calderon explained.
Real Madrid
“I don’t think Antonio Conte will be the coach the Bernabeu is expecting. He’s like Jose Mourinho – a defensive coach with normally three center-backs playing counter-attacking football.”
“That’s not what Real Madrid expect to see. The president tried this before with Mourinho. They didn’t win the Champions League and he left the club in a bad situation,” the former player emphasized.
Besides Conte, Real Madrid are also communicating with Belgium national team coach, Roberto Martinez. Moreover, Los Merengues are rumored calling Belgium Football Federation to talk about Martinez’s contract ending after 2020 UEFA.
