Antonio Conte Teases Mauro Icardi After Inter Milan’s 4-0 win over Lecce

Mauro Icardi

DBasia.news –  Mauro Icardi again received a hint. This time, Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte quipped Icardi when Romelu Lukaku performed well on his debut match in Serie A.

Inter Milan started Serie A 2019-2020 with positive results. La Beneamata crushed Lecce 4-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza in the inaugural week on Monday (8/26).

Inter Milan’s victory was presented by four different players. One of the home team’s winning goalscorers is the new striker, Romelu Lukaku.

After the match, Antonio Conte gave praise to Romelu Lukaku. The Italian coach felt the purchase of Lukaku was not in vain.

“Let’s not all forget the price of Romelu Lukaku, which reached 65 million euros. However, the amount was paid within five years,” said Antonio Conte.

“Many people say the amount of money to buy Romelu Lukaku is very large. However, the reality is not as big as they say.”

“Evidently, tonight (against Lecce), Romelu Lukaku managed to prove why Inter Milan tried so hard to bring him,” Antonio Conte added.

At the same time, Mauro Icardi could not be seen in his Inter Milan squad. Antonio Conte indicated that he no longer needed Icardi’s services.

“Don’t forget, Inter Milan released important players last season, Ivan Perisic, Radja Nainggolan, and Mauro Icardi. So, there are no other purchases to replace other players,” said the coach.

Today, Romelu Lukaku is the most expensive purchase of all time for Inter Milan. Lukaku broke the previous record when I Nerazzurri brought in Christian Vieri.
