Antonio Conte: Tottenham Hotspur’s Door Is Always Open to Christian Eriksen

DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte said “the door is always open” for Christian Eriksen to return after his contract at Inter Milan was terminated for medical reasons.

Eriksen confirmed his determination to return to the field after the cardiac arrest incident while strengthening for Denmark at the 2020 European Cup. He has even returned to training to prepare to appear in the second half of the 2021-2022 season.

Eriksen is now free to choose the club he will strengthen because of the status of a free transfer. The 29-year-old player has parted ways with Inter Milan because he was banned from appearing in Serie A.

Eriksen’s agent had given the code that his client would continue his career outside Denmark. England and the Netherlands are the two priority options.

Tottenham’s name sticks to the surface because it is Eriksen’s former club. The Lilywhites certainly have no doubts about their quality.

“For sure it is good to see Eriksen on the pitch and kick the ball. We are talking about very important players, especially top players,” Conte said at a press conference ahead of the match against Morecambe in the FA Cup.

“Seeing him back ready to play football is great news. I think for Christian, the door (Tottenham) is always open.”

Eriksen can indeed be a good option to increase Tottenham’s strength. Conte did have time to complain about the quality of the players in his squad.
