Antonio Ruediger Ready to Perform Post Injury for Chelsea

DBasia.news –  Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said he would open up opportunities for senior defender Antonio Ruediger to come down in the match against Lille later in the morning. Ruediger is expected to appear in the match after recovering from the injury he suffered.

This season, Ruediger was only able to collect one appearance with the Blues. The German player suffered two serious injuries at the start of the 2019-20 season and had to be sidelined for several months.

“I could have put Antonio Ruediger in the party against Lille. So far, we have given him enough work in the training session,” Frank Lampard said, as quoted from the Metro website.

“He has successfully undergone a tough task in a training session and can’t wait to get back to playing. I know he feels very hungry for competition after a long absence,” continued Lampard added.

The loss of Ruediger had a considerable impact on Chelsea’s backline. Because, they became one of the teams with the worst defense in the Premier League this season despite having talented young defenders in the form of Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori, and Andreas Christensen.

Last weekend, Chelsea even had to concede three goals when visiting the Everton headquarters. Poor coordination at the Blues backline made them subdued by a score of 3-1 at Goodison Park.
