Arrigo Sacchi praise AC Milan’s game tempo

DBasia.news – Week 12 of Serie A 2021-2022 before the November international break concludes at the Derby della Madoninna. AC Milan drew 1-1 against Inter Milan at the San Siro, Monday (08/11).

The match was tight between the two teams. Milan is still untouched by defeat in Serie A and Inter are the defending champions. Milan’s control of the ball was 51% compared to Inter’s 49%, with an equal amount of kicks.

Milan’s goal came from a Stefan de Vrij own goal (17′) and Inter’s goal was scored by former Milan player Halkan Calhanoglu with a penalty (11′). Milan is now in second place with 32 points, the same as Napoli, seven points adrift of Inter in third in the standings.

Milan is still in the race for the Scudetto. The former successful coach of Milan, Arrigo Sacchi applauds the performance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his team mates. According to him, Milan is playing at a fast tempo like European football.

“The first half was fun,” Sacchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Milan started strong and immediately soared ahead.

“They kept the pace which I define as ‘European’, in the sense that in Italy, in general, you play slower.

“While in the tournament, where the team plays at 11 and not six or seven, as we did, you go up at high speed. Milan managed to press in the attacking zone and steal a lot of balls,” concluded Sacchi.

Milan picked up 32 points in their opening 12 Serie A matches and it was the first time this had happened since the three-point era, since 1994-1995. The draw was also the first between Inter and Milan since April 2018.
