Arsenal and Aston Villa Agreed to Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s transfer of 16 million pounds

DBasia.news – Arsenal have accepted a 16 million pound offer from Aston Villa for Argentine goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez (28 years old).

As reported by Sky Sports, Martinez’s valuation could jump to £ 20 million with a number of additional clauses.

The goalkeeper who graduated from the Arsenal academy is scheduled to undergo a medical test as well as discuss personal requirements at Villa on Sunday (13/9).

Martinez has been brilliant since filling in for Arsenal’s main goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, who suffered a knee injury in the second game following last season’s suspension.

After the “restart”, the second goalkeeper has made nine appearances in the EPL and three times in the FA Cup for a total of four goals scored.

Martinez also became a major part of Arsenal when they won the 2019/20 FA Cup and Community Shield 2020.

While defending Arsenal since 2012, Martinez has been loaned to six different clubs, namely: Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Wolves, Getafe and Reading.

Martinez will be Villa’s third purchase in the transfer window this summer after right-back, Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest and striker, Ollie Watkins from Brentford. With Villa, Martinez is likely to be plotted as the main goalkeeper to shift Tom Heaton. The last name is considered to have not found his ideal performance after a severe knee injury last season
