DBasia.news – Arsenal legend Sol Campbell really hopes the Gunners rally every effort to recruit two young defenders: William Saliba and Kieran Tierney.
Both are young players targeted by Arsenal. Saliba, 18, plays for AS Saint-Etienne. While Tierney, 22, strengthenes Celtic. Campbell believes both, if recruited by Arsenal, can strengthen the team’s defense.
“Arsenal have to strengthen their defense line. I know they are connected with many players like Thomas Meunier, Samuel Umtiti, Joachim Andersen, and Armando Izzo – all are good players, but I will try to recruit William Saliba,” Campbell said on Goal.
“He may be young but very talented – and of course Kieran Tierney. If Arsenal can recruit those two players then they will give Emery a strong boost in keeping hope to finish in the Champions League zone next season.”
Campbell very much hopes Arsenal aren’t thinking too much or being stingy to purchase players. They must try hard to recruit Saliba-Tierney at a decent price – not too generous.
“Arsenal plays with lower offers, but they know the time will come when they have to offer a reasonable price to the seller’s club. Hopefully they will do so,” Campbell added.
“I would be very pleased to see Saliba and Tierney at Arsenal – they will lift (the game) everything and also strengthen the defense,” concluded the former England center-back.
