Arsenal opens up a Conversation with Manchester City Regarding Mikel Arteta
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsenal are having conversations with Manchester City to propose to the assistant coach of Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta. At the moment, Arsenal have no permanent coach, since firing Unai Emery at the end of November 2019.
The Manchester Evening News also reported that Manchester City would not obstruct Arteta’s intentions if he wanted to return to North London. However, they are rumored to be asking for substantial compensation money from the Gunners.
Arteta has indeed become the hunt of the Gunners to fill the position left by Unai Emery. In addition to Arteta, reportedly Carlo Ancelotti, Max Allegri, and Mauricio Pochettino has entered Arsenal’s radar.
Previously, they were also rumored to target Brendan Rodgers. However, these rumors immediately evaporated after Rodgers signed a contract extension with Leicester City.
Since firing Emery, the Gunners do not have a replacement manager. Currently, they are cared for by Freddie Ljungberg who was previously Emery’s right hand man. Under Ljungberg’s direction, Arsenal were only able to win one victory from four parties.
Arteta’s ability as a manager is indeed still in question. However, the 37-year-old man has managed to show a pretty good performance as Guardiola’s right hand man at the Etihad Stadium.
“Mikel Arteta is a big part of our success. He has a big role, “Pep Guardiola said in an interview with Sky Sports.
