Arsenal Reach an Agreement to Sign Tielemans

DBasia.news – Arsenal have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Leicester City midfielder, Youri Tielemans.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, is also a Leicester fan, Arsenal have agreed to the personal terms desired by Tielemans, who is keen to move to North London this summer.

Jacobs claims that the Gunners have been monitoring Tielemans for the past year, but the club has yet to make a formal offer to Leicester.

Tielemans contract at Leicester remain until June 2023 or the end of next season. The Foxes are reluctant to lose the Belgian midfielder on a free transfer, especially since he has refused an extension.

Despite the potential to be overtaken by Newcastle United, Arsenal are still at the forefront of securing Tielemans’ signature. The London Canon team is said to be ready to redeem the 25-year-old midfielder for 25 million pounds.

“It’s not worth discussing,” Tielmans said recently when asked about the possibility of leaving Leicester this summer.

“I feel comfortable at Leicester, I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I gave everything for the club until the last day,” said the owner of 52 caps for the Belgian national team.

“But of course you have to take into account other opportunities, you have to consider your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one of them will come to me.”

Tielemans joined Leicester on loan from Monaco in the 2018/19 season before being made permanent for 32 million pounds.

The midfield metronome has scored 24 goals and assisted 24 in 158 games for the Foxes, most notably his impressive long-range strike to beat Chelsea in the 2021 FA Cup final.
