AS Roma Beats Istanbul Basaksehir at the Stadio Olimpico

DBasia.news –  The first match of the Europa League group as convincingly passed by AS Roma through a landslide 4-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir at the Stadio Olimpico, Friday (9/20) AM.

Nicolo Zaniolo and Edin Dzeko were the two stars of the match, both of them scored after Junior Caicara’s own goal in the first half.

Justin Kluivert added a beautiful goal at the end of the match, which allowed the team to score four goals in two straight matches.

Actually the Giallorossi didn’t appear threatening in the first half – but thanks to an own goal from a Leonardo Spinazzola’s bait, the team’s confidence increased with a much more impressive second-half performance.

Zaniolo appeared impressivlye, the young player was very active in moving from the right wing post and was finally able to show off individual actions and provide accurate feedback that was successfully exploited by Dzeko.

Moments later, Dzeko returned the favor, as his measured passage allowed the number 22 player to score a goal through a firm flat shot.

After an impressive first-half performance against Sassuolo at the end of last week, this was an exciting 90 minutes for Paulo Fonseca’s team, even though the Turkish visitors were able to pose a threat within the first 35 minutes.

Amadou Diawara and Spinazzola both made their first appearance as starters for the club, while there was also a debut for Nikola Kalinic – who had a golden opportunity to score – where he came on as a substitute for Dzeko near the end of the match.

The Giallorossi are now turning their attention back to Serie A – wherethey will face Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Sunday.
