Toby Alderweireld

DBasia.news –  AS Roma are still looking for a defender who can replace Kostas Manolas. Reportedly, they are still curious to recruit Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur.

Gianluca Petrachi as director of AS Roma football has publicly stated that they want to bring Alderweireld. But Paulo Fonseca’s team were unable to fulfill the 25 million pound redemption clause in the Alderweireld contract. The clause in the Alderweireld contract, which leaves a one-year duration, expires on Friday (7/26).

According to a report from Sky Sports, Roma is still trying to bring Alderweireld from Spurs. The time for the team who finished sixth in Serie A 2018/19 was getting thinner considering the 2019 summer transfer window in the Premier League will be closed on Thursday (8/8).

Alderweireld has also stated that he has a high chance of staying with Spurs for at least the next season. But Roma still want to bring in the 30-year-old player.
