AS Roma massacred by Sassuolo, this is Paulo Fonseca’s comment

DBasia.news –  Sassuolo defeated AS Roma with a landslide score of 4-2 at Mapei Stadium in the continued Serie A match.

AS Roma did appear disappointing in the 23rd Giornata. They had left behind three goals in the first half through brace Francesco Caputo and Filip Djuricic. Had to minimize lag through Edin Dzeko and Jordan Veretout, the capital club had to recognize Sassuolo’s superiority through the final goal scored by Jeremie Boga.

After the match, Paulo Fonseca was unable to hide his disappointment. He said Il Lupi lost his identity in this match.

“I congratulate Sassuolo for today’s great performance. We did nothing in the first round. We were not there. It’s hard to explain the big difference from this match and against Lazio last time,” Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia on Sunday (2/2/2020).

“We didn’t see Rome at all today. We don’t play, we lose our identity. “It was a difficult match and we know that if Sassuolo plays they will prove their quality through quick attacks,” he added.

The defeat of the capital club was getting sicker after the mainstay player, Lorenzo Pellegrini, received a red card. But the Portuguese coach considers the cards for Pellegrini to be too excessive.

“I want to explain that I do not blame the referee about this result. But I don’t understand why he gave so many cards tonight. I think that’s excessive,” concluded Fonseca.
