AS Roma mourns Dino Da Costa’s death

DBasia.news – The club in the Italian capital, AS Roma are mourning. Their legend, Dino Da Costa is said to have passed away at the age of 89. Da Costa is the eighth top scorer in the club’s history.

“Rest in peace Da Costa, one of the best goal-scorers in the club’s history. We are sorry for his family and friends’ lost,” wrote AS Roma’s official Twitter account @ASRomaEN as quoted by Football Italia, Wednesday (11/11).

With Roma, Da Costa scored 75 goals in 160 matches, 71 of which were scored in Serie A competitions. This record made him the eighth highest goal-scorer in the history of the Giallorossi.

Da Costa’s cause of death is unknown. Meanwhile, Da Costa was born in Brazil, but he chose to have an Italian citizenship in 1955 after deciding to move to the City of Pizza.

Da Costa spent five years with city rivals, SS Lazio. After that, he strengthened several other top Italian clubs such as Fiorentina, Atalanta, Juventus, Hellas Verona, and ended his career with Ascoli in 1968.

During his career in Serie A, Da Costa scored 106 goals in 281 appearances, plus five goals from 31 appearances in Serie B.
