Atletico Madrid Plans to Get the Multi-talent Midfielder from Gremio Back

DBasia.news – Atletico Madrid are reportedly planning to get back the multi-talent midfielder, Caio Henrique from Gremio given the difficult financial situation so that a player transfer involving large funds is unlikely to happen this summer.

Los Rojiblancos have started their preparations for next season and are looking for players to strengthen their squad ahead of the next season but as realistic as they can get. One of them is Caio Henrique who they will get back from his loan contract at the Brazilian club, Gremio.

The 22-year-old player loan contract will not expire until the end of 2020, but Atletico has a clause that makes them end early. Los Rojiblancos recruited Caio from Santos in 2016 and he has a contract at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano until 2023.

Caio joined Atletico Madrid as a midfielder but he has shown his ability to be played as a left back when loaned to Fluminense and currently Gremio as well as playing with the Brazilian U23 national team, meaning Caio could become a subtitute for Renan Lodi in Diego Simeone’s squad which is indeed lacking of left back stock.

Aside from Caio, Nehuen Perez could also be sent home by Atletico ahead of next season after appearing impressive while on loan at the Portuguese club, Famalicao this season. However, the Argentine will add players with non-European passports to Atletico’s squad, all of which have been filled by Felipe, Odi and Santiago Arias.

As for recruiting new players, Atletico still relies on selling players like Thomas Lemar to provide additional funding. Previously they had been required to pay transfers worth 55 million Euros to bring Alvaro Morata after the loan period expires at the end of this season.
