DBasia.news –  After breaking the club transfer record when recruiting Joao Felix, Atletico Madrid is still relatively active in the transfer market this summer. Most recently, they brought in Kieran Trippier, a right-back.

The 28-year-old was signed for three years and reportedly bought Atletico for £ 20 million. Trippier will compete with two other Atletico right-backs, Sime Vrsaljko, and Santiago Arias, to play regularly in Diego Simeone’s squad.

“Atletico de Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to transfer Kieran Trippier. The 28-year-old has signed a contract for three seasons,” said a statement on the official website of Atletico.

“With the recruits, we added to the fantastic and experienced team of teams who won the Champions League last season. The product of the Manchester City academy, he joined at the age of nine. Trippier then went to Barnsley and Burnley on loan before going to the Lancashire club in 2012.”

“Trippier was a starter for England right-back at the 2018 World Cup, during which time he was a constant threat because of his ability in dead ball situations. The versatile British full-back who can play in midfield and has fantastic right legs.”

Trippier immediately practiced with Atletico after being officially announced to the public. His best ability, as described above, is his accuracy in sending crosses and dead ball executions, especially free kicks.

In England, Trippier was called Bury’s David Beckham because of his great free-kick. With the success of Atletico recruiting Trippier, the club has spent more than £ 170 million in the transfer market this summer.

Atletico have recruited Felipe (center back), Renan Lodi (left back), Marcos Llorente (center midfielder), and Joao Felix (attacker), before signing Trippier. All the purchases were made after Atletico lost Juanfran, Diego Godin, Filipe Luis, and Antoine Griezmann.
