Aubameyang talks about his future at Arsenal after winning the Community Shield

DBasia.news – Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, talks about his future on the sidelines of celebrating the 2020-2021 Community Shield title. Realizing that many parties were waiting for him to sign a new contract with Arsenal, Aubameyang also gave a positive signal.

In a match that took place on Saturday (29/8), the two teams drew 1-1 until normal time ended. Arsenal finally emerged as winners after winning 5-4 in the penalty shootout.

Arsenal first took the lead through Aubameyang’s goal in the 12th minute. He fired a hard kick from outside the penalty box which Alisson Becker was unable to reach.

Unfortunately Arsenal failed to maintain its lead until the game was over. Takumi Minamino equalized in the 73rd minute taking advantage of a turmoil at Emiliano Martinez’s goal.

In the shootout round, all of Arsenal’s players successfully carried out their duties. Meanwhile, one Liverpool executor, Rhian Brewster, failed after his shot hit the crossbar.

Aubameyang’s goal against Liverpool continued his positive trend at Wembley stadium. He has scored a total of five goals in three matches in the last 42 days there.

Aubameyang’s other four goals at Wembley Stadium came in the 2019-2020 FA Cup semi-finals and final. Arsenal also emerged as champions in that event.

Naturally, Aubameyang is now Arsenal’s new amulet at Wembley. He replaced the figure of Alexis Sanchez who also scored five goals at the stadium that is the pride of the British public.

“Big games, big moments, big players. Aubameyang responds well to that kind of pressure,” Arteta told BT Sport.

“He was outstanding in the FA Cup final and he was outstanding again today.”

Aubameyang’s slick performance has certainly made Arsenal confident to keep his flagship striker. The contract extension negotiations for the former Borussia Dortmund player are rumored to be completed soon.
