Azmeer wants to help KL before leaving
By news-admin
DBasia.news – AFTER two seasons with Kuala Lumpur, defender Azmeer Yusof intends to leave the squad for a new challenge next season.
Hence, the chance to play in the Malaysia Cup will not be wasted with the determination to return the favour to coach Fabio Maciel for having faith in him and help the city’s team to reach the best level before he says goodbye.
Azmeer, who warmly warms up the bench this season, has a chance to return to the frontline after Syazwan Andik Ishak was released by Kuala Lumpur to join the country’s squad to the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.
“I want to thank the coach for still having faith in me to replace Syazwan’s place. I’m feeling excited and a little worried because I have not played for so long.
“This season, I’ve only been down five times in the frontline and twice as a substitute. Of course I’m a bit clumsy when given opportunities.
“Anyway, I will try to give my best to repay the coach’s confidence in me. What’s more, this is the last season with Kuala Lumpur as I intend to move to another team next season, “said the left back.
Azmeer, however, has denied his decision to be frustrated by the lack of a coach this season despite being one of the key players who helped the Hawks to win the Premier League last season and qualify for the Super League.
“The feeling of disappointment is there but I accept it as a competition. That is not the real cause I want to migrate to other teams but I always want a new challenge in my career.
“Two years ago, I challenged myself to leave the ATM and join Kedah even though the rivals got the place in the squad were very fierce. I managed to put myself in front of me and helped Kedah out on the Malaysian Cup.
“When I wanted to move to Kuala Lumpur last season, many were questioning as the team played in the Premier League. But, finally we emerged champions and this season played in the Super League.
“Next season, I need a new team to give a new challenge in my career. There are already some teams showing interest but for now, I want to focus on helping Kuala Lumpur reach the best in the Malaysian Cup, “said Azmeer.
