Barcelona and Arsenal Are the Teams Most Trust in Young Players According to CIES

DBasia.news – A recent report from the football observatory, CIES, reveals some of the teams that use the most young players. As a result, Barcelona and Arsenal are still in the top row.

In particular, the Swiss-based figures management body ranks teams from the top 72 divisions around the world according to the average age of the line-up played in league games so far.

This figure is then combined with the percentage of minutes played for players who have not turned 21 during the match.

When it comes to the top five European leagues, the first position belongs to AS Monaco, which has an average team age of 24.31 years so far this season. According to the report, 14.2 percent of the minutes Monaco’s players have played this season have come from those who are under 21.

Currently, Monaco is inhabited by a number of talented young players such as Myron Boadu, Sofiane Diop, Anthony Musaba, and Aurelien Tchouamen. Monaco join the top five with Saint-Etienne and Brest with average ages of 24.74 and 24.75. On the other hand, Marseille (24.81 years), Reims (24.88 years) and Nice (24.94 years) ensure there are six French clubs in the top 10.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, which is known as a warehouse for young players, is also one of the best. Based on CIES data, the Gunners have an average age of 25.01 years. The report also said Arsenal gave an 11 percent chance of playing in the league to players under the age of 21.

Barcelona also did not want to lose. With Ronald Koeman’s decision to give more flying hours to La Masia dropouts, Barca recorded the percentage of minutes played at 22.7 percent. That figure makes Barca ranked second in Europe’s top five leagues.

On the other hand, 89 of the 1,041 teams surveyed have not fielded a player under 21 so far this season, including Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Newcastle United, Burnley and West Ham United. The same goes for German duo Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Scottish champions Rangers.
