Barcelona are no longer interested in Alvaro Morata

DBasia.news – Rumors of Alvaro Morata’s move to Barcelona will almost certainly not materialize in the transfer market this winter. The Blaugrana have stopped the hunt for the Juventus striker.

Barcelona initially did plan to bring in a new striker. That was after they lost Sergio Aguero who was forced to retire early due to heart problems.

Barcelona had been linked with a number of names such as Anthony Martial to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Morata is a name that has recently been widely targeted by El Barca.

Morata did open the opportunity to return to Spain. This is inseparable from the difficult times faced by the 29-year-old striker at Juventus.

The return of Massimiliano Allegri as Juventus coach did not help Morata much. The loanee from Atletico Madrid is still struggling to show his best performance with the Bianconeri.

Rumors of Morata’s move to Barcelona surfaced in the last kick. Atletico are even interested in the plan as long as the scheme is a loan plus a permanent purchase obligation.

But Barcelona is said to have changed their plans. According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi Hernandez’s team is no longer interested in Morata.

Luuk de Jong can now be relied on by Barcelona to bang on the opponent’s defense.

Even so, that does not mean Barcelona already has a new target. Instead, they thought of canceling their planned purchase of a new attacker.

The performance improvement shown by Luuk de Jong is one of the main considerations. In addition, the recovery of Ansu Fati, Memphis Depay, and Martin Braithwaite will add options up front.

Moreover, Barcelona’s efforts to bring in new players will be complicated. They have to think harder to make their salary burden not exceed the limit so they can be registered immediately.
