Barcelona in Crisis of Attackers

Barcelona

DBasia.news –  Ousmane Dembele’s injury has added to the problem for Barcelona who lost a few weeks back in Week 1 of LaLiga. Worse yet, Barcelona is currently in crisis of attackers.

“FC Barcelona player, Ousmane Dembele, was diagnosed with an injury to his left thigh,” stated a statement from Barcelona. Dembele is predicted to be absent for five weeks or one month and a half – this is the fifth injury he suffered while playing for Barcelona.

Dembele was injured while in training session with Barcelona. This news came a few days after Ernesto Valverde’s team lost 0-1 to Athletic Bilbao in Week 1 of LaLiga which took place last weekend at San Mamés.

The French striker followed two of his team-mates up front, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, who were also injured. Inevitably Barcelona are faced with an attacking crisis situation during Week two of LaLiga against Real Betis at Camp Nou, Monday (8/26) 2.00 AM WIB.

Real Betis were the team that defeated Barcelona last season at Camp Nou. The striker’s crisis is clearly a chore for Valverde to concoct a strategy with the players he currently has. Especially at this time, Valverde was increasingly highlighted by the public after losing to Bilbao.

Leaving Only Antoine Griezmann

Without Dembele, Suarez, Messi, and Philippe Coutinho leaving for Bayern Munchen, Barca automatically only has Antoine Griezmann as the spearhead who is fit to play. The former Atletico Madrid striker will be very reliable in the match against Betis.

Valverde is obliged to maximize Griezmann’s potential to play without Messi and Suarez on the front lines. Allegedly, Barcelona can change tactics to 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 by relying on Griezmann as a central striker.

If they use the 4-4-2 tactics, then Carles Perez, a La Masia product, could be Griezmann’s tandem on the front lines, or place another attacking midfielder (Rafinha) behind the 28-year-old player.
