Barcelona is Targeting Ricardo Rodriguez

Ricardo Rodriguez

DBasia.news –  FC Barcelona continues to add strength in the transfer market this summer. Intending to add stock on the left side of the defense, Barcelona tried to find a coating for Jordi Alba.

Some names has surfaced but until now no one really came to Camp Nou. One new name in particular has continued to emerged, namely Ricardo Rodriguez, AC Milan’s 26-year-old left back.

The appearance of Rodriguez’s name, according to Sport-English, was because Barcelona saw an opportunity to recruit the Swiss player. As the Rossoneri are getting closer to getting Real Madrid left back, Theo Hernandez.

The Spanish defender who was loaned to Real Sociedad last season will be loaned by Milan with the obligation to purchase at a price of 20 million euros.

If Hernandez really joined Milan, then the club will likely sell Rodriguez or Diego Laxalt – both left backs.

Comparing the two players, Milan was allegedly more defending Rodriguez than Laxalt. But, Barcelona will try to bid to recruit the former Wolfsburg player.

Barcelona needed a left back to cover for Alba. Although not injured, Alba’s fitness level often decreases towards the end of last season due to lack of rest periods and being rarely rotated by Ernesto Valverde,

Rodriguez has an ideal profile to strengthen Barca. Although not having the speed like Alba, the Zurich academy product has good cross accuracy and is good at executing set pieces.

Rodriguez has provided four assists from a total of 41 matches with Milan in all competitions last season.

Ricardo Rodriguez’s chance to head to Barcelona: 50%

Milan can receive big funds if they sell Rodriguez (rather than Laxalt). But, whether Rodriguez gets sold or not will depend on the fate of Theo Hernandez’s transfer.
