Barcelona Legend Doubts Solari Could Follow Zidane’s Success in Madrid

Santiago Solari
DBasia.news – Real Madrid appointed Santiago Solari as the interim coach after firing Julen Lopetegui. Solari will play his debut against Melilla on the 32nd round of Copa del Rey and expected to repeat Zinedine Zidane’s success.
Solari, Madrid legend who played in 2000-2005, is appointed by the board of directors to replace Julen Lopetegui who fired after the 1-5 defeat against Barcelona in El Clasico last weekend.
Madrid’s decision is like repeating the moment in 2015-2016. At that time, Rafael Benitez also sacked amid the season and replaced by Zidane, the former club player just like Solari.
In the beginning, many doubted Zidane due to lack of experience in coaching. But the doubts vanished after Zizou presented 3 Champions League titles and one LaLiga. Zidane only needed 2 years before resigning last season.

Solari is expected to give the same touch. However, Barcelona and Brasil football legend, Rivaldo, doubts Solari could repeat the same success just like Zidane.
“Despite being in the same situation as Zidane I am not expecting the same successful transition to be repeated. With all due respect to Solari’s work, he does not seem to be good enough right now to become the permanent coach of Real Madrid,” Rivaldo told Goal.
“He will be there only one or two games, sooner or later Madrid will come to an agreement with a new coach. Right now Solari is a good choice as he knows the club and players, but nevertheless, I don’t think he will stay a long time because he is still not ready.”
Then, according to Rivaldo, who deserves to coach Madrid?
“Bringing in a coach with discipline could be useful, since the players may have relaxed too much after all the success of the last few seasons. He is an experienced coach and a good option for Madrid,” Rivaldo refers to Antonio Conte.
