Barcelona sacrificed 3 players for the sake of signing the Valencia duo

DBasia.news – Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the Valencia duo in the summer transfer market. To fund the transfer, Barcelona sacrificed three of their side players.

Although lately the main news has been filled by news on the arrival of Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona are also targeting a number of other names. Two of them are Carlos Soler and Jose Luis Gaya.

Both players play in Valencia. Soler plays as a midfielder and Gaya plays at left-back, Gaya can follow in the footsteps of Jordi Alba who was also a former Valencia player, then succeeded at Barcelona.

Reportedly, Joan Laporta as Barcelona President has met with Valencia President, Anil Murthy and discuss the potential transfer. Valencia has set a high price for both players.

As reported by Football-Espana, Valencia asked for funds of approximately €70 million for the transfer of Soler and Gaya and asked for players from Barcelona (bartering players).

Mundo Deportivo added that there are three Barca players offered by Laporta, they are: Martin Braithwaite, Sergino Dest and Riqui Puig. Valencia has not responded to the offer.

All three have reasons to be considered for Barca’s release. Dest failed to convince Xavi with inconsistent play, while Braithwaite was injured and judged his standard of play was unsuitable for Barca.

Meanwhile, Puig, a product of the La Masia academy, rarely plays. Puig lost competitiveness with his compatriots such as Pedri, Nico Gonzalez, and Gavi. Moreover, in the middle there are already Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets to complete the playing slots in that area.
