Bayern Munich Again Wants to Hijack Players from Rival Teams

DBasia.news – Bayern Munich has a tradition of recruiting or hijacking players from rival teams. This summer alone Die Roten signed Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig and it won’t be the last.

From the latest news told by Fabrizio Romano, a European football transfer expert, Bayern are very close to recruiting Marcel Sabitzer as a new recruit from RB Leipzig. The official price is around 16 million euros.

“FC Bayern is getting closer to signing Marcel Sabitzer as a new player, an agreement is reached and soon here we go! A figure of around 16 million euros as reported by CF Bayern and Sport Bild today. Sabitzer is not considering other offers. He only wants Bayern.” said Romano.

The 27-year-old Sabitzer plays as a midfielder who can also play a role on the flanks. Sabitzer has played for Leipzig since 2014 after previously playing for Admira Wacker and Rapid Vienna.

Sabitzer has followed Upamecano and his former Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern. Sabitzer’s quality, ability to play in many positions and international experience can add variety to Bayern’s play.

Indirectly Sabitzer also filled a vacant slot after his compatriot, David Alaba did not extend his contract at Bayern and went to Real Madrid. Both Austrian national team players and Sabitzer have 54 caps and eight goals.

Fourth Recruit

If Sabitzer is officially introduced by Bayern then he will be the team’s fourth signing in the Julian Nagelsmann era. Before Sabitzer Bayern had signed Upamecano, Omar Richards and Sven Ulreich.

Six players also returned from loan spells such as Christian Fruchtl, Michael Cuisance, Lars Lukas Mai, Joshua Zirkzee, Adrian Fein and Chris Richards. However, Lukas Mai, Zirkzee and Fein have returned on loan to other clubs this season.
