Bayern Munich Confirms the Recruitment of RB Leipzig Defender Dayot Upamecano

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Bayern Munich have met an agreement to bring in RB Leipzig defender, Dayot Upamecano. This certainty was confirmed directly by Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, Friday (12/2).

“I can confirm and we at Bayern are very happy with this agreement,” said Salihamidzic to the well-known German media, Bild.

“We had very good, intensive and professional discussions with Dayot and his agent Volker Struth for months. We know that there is very tough competition,” he added.

So far, Upamecano has become one of the most wanted defenders in Europe.

Liverpool and Chelsea are among the two who are keen to sign the 22-year-old. However, Bayern won the hunt. As reported by Sky Germany, Upamecano will be presented with Bayern on a five-year contract.

The French player is plotted to replace David Alaba, whose contract expires at the end of this season and will join Real Madrid.

Upamecano is a major pillar at the heart of the Leipzig defense. Apart from being strong, he has the privilege of doing dribbles and building attacks from behind.

The Upamecano contract at Leipzig will expire in June 2023. Bayern are projected to redeem the player for a minimum price of €50 million.
