DBasia.news – Belgium maintain their perfect record in the 2020 European Cup qualification Group I after partying four goals without reply at the San Marino headquarters.
Michy Batshuayi packed a brace in the win, which was punctuated by goals from Dries Mertens and Nacer Chadli, UEFA’s official website notes.
The results at the same time solidify Belgium’s position at the top of Group I standings with a collection of 15 full points, while San Marino (0), which up to five games never scored fixated as a caretaker.
Despite appearing to be in full control of the match, Belgium was only able to open the scoring through Batshuayi’s penalty in the 43rd minute after Jan Vertonghen’s long-range strike struck Mirko Palazzi’s hand.
The second half ran equally with the first 45 minutes and Belgium managed to double their lead in the 57th minute through a close-range effort Mertens completed Chadli’s pass.
Six minutes later Chadli’s turn to record his name on the scorers list when changing the score to 3-0 for Belgium.
In the second minute of injury time, Batshuayi scored his second goal as well as completing Belgium’s victory to 4-0 through his header to welcome Yannick Carrasco’s cross.
