Ben Chilwell equals to Deco and Alvaro Morata’s record at Chelsea

DBasia.news – Frank Lampard’s Chelsea team won the London Derby match against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge by a landslide score of 4-0.

The four Chelsea goalscorers were Ben Chilwell (50 ‘), Kurt Zouma (66’) and Jorginho’s brace (78 ‘and 82’ from penalties). A worthy win for Chelsea with 71 percent of the ball for a total of 17 kicks and six on target.

The first goal Chilwell scored was quite special. The English left-back scored his first goal for the club who signed him from Leicester City this summer on his first chance to start in the Premier League.

Not only scoring goals, Chilwell also provided assists for Kurt Zouma’s goals. No doubt Chilwell repeated the slick records of former Chelsea players, Deco and Alvaro Morata.

“Ben Chilwell is only the third Chelsea player to score and assist on his Premier League debut for Chelsea, after Deco in August 2008 and Alvaro Morata in August 2017,” said @OptaJoe.

Ben Chillwell is also the 23rd Chelsea player to score on his debut and is the first English player to do so there since January 1997.

“Ben Chilwell is the 23rd different player to score on his Chelsea debut in the Premier League and the first English player to do so since Paul Hughes against Derby County in January 1997. An introduction,” added Opta.

One more thing Chilwell did in his 100th Premier League appearance. His great performance served as a warning for two other Chelsea left-backs who were Chilwell’s competitors, namely Marcos Alonso and Emerson.
