Ben Chilwell Injured Ahead of the 2022 World Cup

DBasia.news – Ben Chilwell felt uncomfortable when he was helped down the tunnel after the final whistle after Chelsea beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-1.

Chilwell clutched his leg in the final minutes of Chelsea’s win over Dinamo, and he sat on the touchline. The England international player was unable to continue the game and limped down the tunnel after the full-time whistle.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, manager Graham Potter admitted: “Yeah, [the injury] doesn’t look positive. It’s a hamstring and we’ll have to scan it and see how it goes.”

That is worrying for Chelsea and England fans. Chilwell was unable to hold the weight on his leg as he was assisted by two men to jump into the tunnel at Stamford Bridge, apparently having a problem with his left hamstring. With England starting their World Cup campaign in less than three weeks, their availability for the tournament is suddenly in doubt.

This is a major blow for Chilwell, who suffered an ACL injury in November 2021, and only returned to action earlier this season.
