Ben Chilwell Lauds Thiago Silva’s Impact on Chelsea

DBasia.news – Ben Chilwell praised the impact Thiago Silva has had on Chelsea. He said that the Brazilian set the quality standard after the Blues beat Crystal Palace 4-0 on Saturday (3/10) yesterday.

Frank Lampard’s men had a slow start against the Eagles, with the game going goalless in the first half. However, they started to find their rhythm in the second half.

Ben Chilwell opened the scoring, before Kurt Zouma and a double from Jorginho completed the landslide win.

While Chelsea have received few defensive threats against the Crystal Palace side, Ben Chilwell paid special credit to Thiago Silva for how he has behaved since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain.

“From the moment he came into the building, when he was in the room, he had a presence about himself,” the former Leicester City player told the BBC.

“He made everyone want to do well. Standards never go down, he demands quality and he guarantees everything.”

The England international made his league debut for his new club not only scoring goals, he also provided assists for Kurt Zouma’s goals and kept a clean sheet.

“The first half was frustrating, we had a lot of possession but didn’t really create enough chances as a team,” he added. “We know Crystal Palace are a very organized team and they showed it in the first half.”

“At the end of the first half we talked about the need to be a little more creative and take a few more chances in attack. We knew we had quality there and in the second half we were a little sharper and scored four goals and I like the way we continued to achieve end.”
