DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies said his team was ready to face Arsenal’s visitors in the North London derby, Friday (13/5).
Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League table, four points clear of Tottenham directly below them, with only three games to play in the competition. However, according to Davies, the pressure is on the Gunners.
Tottenham only drew 1-1 against Liverpool at Anfield. Davies also commented on his team’s recent performances.
“We played against two of the best teams in world football [in Liverpool and Manchester City] and being unbeaten is a nice little achievement, but the league position will show where we deserve to end up and who we are up against really matters,” stated Davies as quoted from Football.
“I like to think [we’re going in the right direction]. We have to try to compete against the best teams. I think we’ve shown that this year. We have to improve our consistency. We struggled with that for a while, but we have to take the positive things with results against teams like this.”
The duel at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the middle of this week may be a play-off for the race to finish in the top four.
“Look at us now, Thursday was an amazing game. We know what we have to do to deal with it and there is nothing to hide from it. We have to go out and try to put in the same performance as we did today,” added Davies.
“We have to do whatever we can control. They are in fantastic form, but there is a lot of pressure on them to defend and do it in the remaining games.”
