DBasia.news – Giuseppe Marotta praised Christian Eriksen, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, as a quality player. But he denied Inter Milan had negotiated to recruit him this January.
Inter Milan are among the new port candidates for Christian Eriksen. The Danish player rejected Tottenham Hotspur’s proposed contract extension. As a result, Eriksen can leave with a free transfer status.
Some media in Italy said Inter Milan had agreed with Tottenham to transfer Eriksen in the winter of 2020. The former Ajax Amsterdam was valued at 20 million euros.
However, Marotta denied the news that blows. The CEO does not want to divulge who is the player on the Inter Milan radar.
“Inter Milan are often associated with great players and that makes us flattered. However, we did not make contact with Tottenham,” Marotta said as reported by Sky Sport Italia.
“I think there are many clubs that are interested in him (Eriksen). He is an interesting player, but I will not stand here and say you are negotiating with the club or its agent.”
“I choose not to reveal names, but we are very active in the transfer market. Who we bring also depends on who will leave,” said the former Juventus official.
Aside from Christian Eriksen, Inter Milan are also rumored to want to recruit Arturo Vidal. So far, Inter is still blocked by a blessing from Barcelona.
“Now, we are looking for midfielders and wing-backs. If players want to leave, we will try to make them happy. However, so far we have not received pressure from the players.”
