Berlusconi Persuades Ibrahimovic to Strengthen His Club

DBasia.news –  Former AC Milan owner, Silvio Berlusconi, stated on Saturday that he hoped Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be signed to defend his third division club, Monza, amid reports that the Swedish star would return to Italy.

“Ibrahimovic for Milan? I hope he comes to Monza,” Berlusconi said.

The former Italian prime minister was the person who brought Ibrahimovic to AC Milan in the summer of 2010.

Berlusconi’s 30-year ownership of the club ended in 2017 when he sold the seven-time European champion and the 18-time Serie A champion to Chinese businessman, Li Yonghong.

US fund manager, Elliott, took control of Milan last year after Li was declared defaulting on debt to purchase the club.

Berlusconi purchased Monza in September 2018 for three million euros after selling Milan for 740 million euros. The club now leads the Serie C or third division.

Ibrahimovic left the Los Angeles Galaxy after failing to take the club to the Major League Soccer playoffs.

AC Milan, Napoli, Roma and Bologna are said to be interested in the veteran player.
