DBasia.news – Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva, expressed his sympathy for Liverpool, whose fate has not been confirmed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He also sympathized that Jurgen Klopp’s team could not celebrate with supporters.
The Corona Virus pandemic has temporarily stopped the Premier League. So far, there is no certainty on when the competition will resume. As the situation in England is still unpredictable.
The fate of Liverpool, who are 25 points ahead of second place, Manchester City, is uncertain. In fact, Virgil van Dijk and his colleagues only need two more wins to seal the title.
Bernardo Silva understands, sooner or later, when the competition resumes, Liverpool will become champions. Silva feels, Liverpool’s title celebration will not be complete as it will most likely not be witnessed by supporters.
“I think this situation is devastating. Maybe, when they win, they wont be able to enjoy it as they wont celebrate it with supporters,” explained Bernardo Silva in a question and answer session in Bleacher Report.
Lately, several alternatives have emerged to complete the Premier League. One of them is to end the competition within five weeks. Later, every match will be closed for supporters.
“Liverpool will not be able to play with the crowd watching. It will be hard to perform for two or three months without an audience. However, they deserve to be champions,” Silva said.
Liverpool last won the Premier League in the 1989-1990 season. Mohamed Salah and his colleagues actually had a golden opportunity to come out victorious last season. Unfortunately, they were overtaken by Manchester City before the competition ended.
